Today's Bud the Teacher prompt was a picture only. I found that more difficult than the others. Or maybe it was that I was trying to write while my boys wrestled, played video games, argued, laughed and screamed (concurrently).
Above the Rain, I Hear It
I live my life to the song of boys
a song whose lilts and twirls are balanced by the blue notes
a song of short sleeves, baseball caps, faded jeans
a song that stills my heart and moves my feet forward.
No matter the road
the baggage
the weather
I will always be serenaded and sunshined
by the boys’ song.

This was a beautiful poem. You didn't need to use many words or complicated phrases to describe the type of feeling you were experiencing (which is very refreshing). I'm the youngest child in a family of four, with two parents and a brother. Although my mother and I are very girly and add our feminine touch to everything, it's clear that my father and brother run the household. With tv's blaring concurrently and mandatory family sporting events almost every weekend, I can relate to your feeling of "living to the song of the boys". It's a big job for us women to take on, but if you're anything like me, you wouldn't change it for the world.

Stephanie,
Thanks so much for all of your thoughtful comments. They really mean so much to me and I like that even at this stage of the year we are still getting to know each other better!
